جودی گارلند
جودی گارلند، یکی از بزرگترین و شناختهشدهترین ستارگان سینمای کلاسیک هالیوود، در تاریخ ۱۰ ژوئن ۱۹۲۲ در شهر Grand Rapids ایالت میشیگان به دنیا آمد. نام واقعی او فرانسیس ائلین گومز بود، اما بعدها به جودی گارلند تغییر نام داد. او از کودکی وارد دنیای سرگرمی شد و اولین بار در سن ۲ سالگی در کنار خانوادهاش در یک تئاتر نمایش داشت. در سنین نوجوانی وارد صنعت سینما شد و در ابتدا در نقشهای کوچک ظاهر شد.
جودی گارلند به ویژه به خاطر ایفای نقش «دوروتی» در فیلم کلاسیک «جادوگر شهر اوز» (۱۹۳۹) مشهور شد. این فیلم یکی از نمادهای سینمای هالیوود به حساب میآید و آهنگ معروف «Somewhere Over the Rainbow» که توسط جودی گارلند در آن فیلم اجرا شد، به یکی از مشهورترین و محبوبترین آهنگهای تاریخ سینما تبدیل شد.
گارلند همچنین در فیلمهای دیگری مانند «Meet Me in St. Louis» (۱۹۴۴) و «A Star is Born» (۱۹۵۴) به ایفای نقش پرداخت و در هر یک از آنها تواناییهای خود در زمینه بازیگری و آوازخوانی را به نمایش گذاشت. او نه تنها بازیگر توانایی بود، بلکه یک خواننده فوقالعاده نیز بود و صدای منحصر به فردش او را به یکی از بهترین خوانندگان تاریخ سینما تبدیل کرد.
او در طول زندگی حرفهای خود با مشکلاتی چون اعتیاد، افسردگی و فشارهای کاری زیاد مواجه بود، اما با این حال توانست به یکی از بزرگترین نمادهای فرهنگی آمریکا تبدیل شود. جودی گارلند در سال ۱۹۶۹ به دلیل مصرف بیش از حد دارو درگذشت، اما میراث او همچنان در دنیای سینما و موسیقی زنده است.
او در طول زندگی خود جوایز متعددی دریافت کرد و امروزه به عنوان یکی از بزرگترین و تاثیرگذارترین ستارگان تاریخ سینما شناخته میشود.
